California Institute for Rural Studies
CIRS work is deeply rooted in realities that interconnect the stories of rural California communities. It is in partnership with those impacted by system failures and extraction that we are building tools for action. Rural communities have been surviving and thriving for generations — CIRS holds space for intergenerational storytellers to take ownership of their narratives and share different forms of knowledge that transform into calls to action and influence policy.
